Related Affordable Foundation and KABOOM! came together once again, this time to build a community playspace at River Trails Apartments in San Antonio, Texas. We are very thankful to Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran, San Antonio Football Club, San Antonio Spurs, the local residents and all the volunteers who joined in this effort, providing this community's children an active, safe place to play and grow.

The Related Affordable Foundation, Related Midwest and nonprofit After School Matters brought together young residents of Chicago affordable developments to create a mural honoring their city and its workers, dubbed “Building Chicago Together.” Local artist Erick “ROHO” Garcia designed the artwork and guided teens who spent the summer developing their creative and teamwork skills.

Related Affordable is nearing completion of the renovation of Park Club Apartments. The Related Affordable Foundation has partnered with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee to allow the youngest residents of the property to enjoy educational activities at the Milwaukee Zoo, organizing special classes and visits year-round.

This fall, Related Affordable Foundation and nonprofit KABOOM! celebrated the creation of a kid-designed playspace at Southern Hills, which provides an active, social and safe place for kids to have fun and express themselves.

Built in 1929, Biltmore Towers began as a prominent hotel and was converted into affordable senior residences in 1981. After undergoing extensive rehabilitation by Related Affordable and St. Mary Development Corporation, Biltmore Towers now offers senior residents upgraded residences, facilities, amenity spaces and more. Related is proud to help improve our residents' quality of life and to keep their home affordable for years to come.

Related Affordable and Related Affordable Foundation team members joined partners, city officials and locals from Anderson, South Carolina to honor the reopening and renovation of affordable residence Friendship Court Apartments, as well as adjacent St. Francis Park. Related is thrilled to preserve affordable housing for Anderson's residents and to contribute an engaging place to play, exercise and connect for the community.

Colonial Village in Cincinnati was acquired by Related Affordable in 2021 with a plan to significantly improve residents’ quality of life. The renovations currently underway have focused on revamping the residences’ interiors, building systems and critical infrastructure. Listen to residents share their personal experiences of how their homes' remodeling has enhanced their wellbeing and connection to the community.

On August 17th, Related Southeast's team members spent the afternoon at the West Palm Beach Police Athletic League, helping beautify the facility, participating in relay races with prizes and hosting a pizza and ice cream party for the students. The organization involves at-risk young people in fun and educational programs that support them on their own paths to success.

In August, Related Beal volunteers participated in two Build Days with nonprofit Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, where they helped construct affordable townhomes at the Main Street Phase II project in Malden, MA. Led by the Habitat Construction Team, volunteers contributed by framing, measuring and cutting materials; installing flooring; organizing and preparing materials; cleaning; and much more. These days of service will leave a lasting impact on local families who are in need of a safe place to call home.

On July 19th, Related's 30 Hudson Yards office hosted a group students participating in the city's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), which provides local youths invaluable career experiences and opportunities to build new skill-sets. Related team members provided students with an informative Lunch & Learn session, plus an exciting visit to Edge's observation deck.

In July, Wollman Rink hosted CityPickle's Season Two Major League Pickleball Draft, part of Related's ongoing commitment to developing innovative and inclusive programming at Wollman Rink. CityPickle's staff also provided lessons and 1-hour pickleball clinics to children participating in local youth organizations, sending them home with swag bags including free pickleball padels.

In June, Related Management Company's team from the 451 10th Avenue office volunteered for the Ali Forney Center (AFC), the country's largest agency dedicated to homeless LGBTQIA+ youth. RMC team members helped create 400 snack bags for AFC, which will be provided to young people to support them between meals.
