Teens at Parkway Gardens help beautify their community

Parkway Gardens in Chicago will soon reveal a finished mural created for and by its residents. In partnership with Related and Related Midwest, After School Matters instructor Erick "Roho" Garcia led young residents to make a mural that they could be proud of right at home.

Hunter’s Point South in Queens offers comprehensive amenity suite designed to enrich residents’ lives

Hunter’s Point South is a permanent affordable housing development located in Long Island City, Queens, completed by Related in 2015 in partnership with the City of New York, Phipps Houses and Monadnock Construction. There, middle- and moderate-income residents—including teachers, police officers, firefighters, nurses and others—have access to a comprehensive amenity package including fitness centers, outdoor terraces, children’s play rooms and an incredible community garden cared for by the tenants, with the support of GrowNYC.

We started exclusively as an affordable housing developer in 1972, and today, we are one of the largest developers and preservationists of affordable and workforce housing in the country. Currently, we own and manage 55,000 affordable and workforce housing apartment homes and we are proud to have never converted a single unit of affordable housing to market rate.

Co-developed by Related Northwest and non-profit Central City Concern, Cedar Commons has opened in East Portland, offering permanently-supportive housing to some of the most vulnerable local residents. Central City Concern will also provide residents with on-site services such as mental health services and employment support and training.

Affordable development Willets Point breaks ground in Queens

On Wednesday, June 16th, the city officially broke ground on the environmental cleanup efforts needed for the Willets Point redevelopment in Queens. The project is being undertaken by a pair of developers called Queens Development Group, which includes Related Companies and Sterling Equities.

Pocket Homes are discounted 20% below market value, and eligible purchasers are defined by their income levels, as well as where they live and work.
