Willets Point affordable housing development reaches new milestone in Queens

On March 6th, the City Planning Commission unanimously approved plans to bring the city’s first-ever soccer stadium to Willets Point, in a plan that includes 1,400 new units of affordable housing—already under construction—and a second phase with an additional 1,100 residences. 

“For over a decade, the City Planning Commission has championed the redevelopment of Willets Point and been committed to ensuring it delivers much-needed affordable housing and other critical elements that will make the area a dynamic neighborhood and destination,” Related CEO Jeff Blau said. “We are grateful for their vision, their dedication and for their approval of this vision that will deliver a vibrant mixed-use community built on the bedrock of thousands of affordable housing units."

Related announces renovations for NY's Westchester Park Apartments senior community

On January 23rd, Related and development partner MJ Peterson Group unveiled plans for comprehensive renovations of Westchester Park Apartments in Tonawanda, NY. The housing community offers 1- and 2-bedroom apartments for seniors and individuals living with disabilities, and residents will benefit from full renovations to their bathrooms, kitchens and floors, as well as full ADA upgrades and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Residents will be provided with temporary housing during the renovation process, returning to modernized homes designed to improve their quality of life.

Pocket Living announces new affordable residence Sheepcote Road
Located in London's northeast Harrow, Sheepcote Road will introduce 149 new residences available to first-time homeowners, including 16 residences that will be wheelchair adaptable. Residents will have access to a communal garden and two rooftop terraces, as well as easy transportation access to nearby Harrow-on-the-Hill Station.

We started exclusively as an affordable housing developer in 1972, and today, we are one of the largest developers and preservationists of affordable and workforce housing in the country. Currently, we own and manage 55,000 affordable and workforce housing apartment homes and we are proud to have never converted a single unit of affordable housing to market rate.

Related Affordable Foundation and KABOOM! came together to build a community playspace at River Trails Apartments in San Antonio, Texas. The teams received support from Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran, San Antonio Football Club, San Antonio Spurs, local residents and volunteers, providing the community's children an active, safe place to play and grow.
