Related started exclusively as an affordable housing developer in 1972 and today is one of the largest developers and preservationists of affordable and workforce housing in the country. Currently, Related owns and manages 55,000 affordable and workforce housing apartment homes and is proud to have never converted a single unit of affordable housing to market rate.

Lifelong resident of Marshall Field Garden Apartments Alexis Shannon has seen how her community has positively changed over the last twenty years. The community center offers many computers, a room for smaller children and an expansive library. Scholarships to private schools are also available to a certain number of families each year, preparing kids for high school and their futures.
