Brent Cross Town scoops Neighbourhood & Area prize at NLA Awards 2025

Brent Cross Town scooped the coveted Neighbourhood & Area prize at the NLA Awards 2025, recognising the visionary masterplan by Allies & Morrison and the park town’s contribution to shaping the future of London.

Awards were handed out across 30 categories at a gathering of more than 650 industry, community and policy leaders, celebrating the projects, organisations and individuals shaping a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous London.

Supported by the Mayor of London, this year’s Awards honoured exemplary work across the built environment and contributions aligned with the New London Agenda – NLA’s best practice framework for citymaking.

As one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects, the awards recognised the evolving transformation of Brent Cross Town, which was identified by the London Mayor’s London Plan as an ‘opportunity area’. When complete the park town will comprise 6,700 new homes, 3m sq ft of workspace, 50 acres of green parks, three schools and a new high street.

2025 has been a momentous year for the neighbourhood which is being delivered by Related Argent and Barnet Council. The first residents are now calling Brent Cross Town their home following the completion of the first residential buildings, which includes purpose-built BTR homes, private market sale and affordable / social.

Neighbourhood Square – the park town’s central meeting place – has also completed, which was followed by the opening of Co-op, the park town’s first grocer.

The second phase – due to continue into next year – includes the construction of 1,600 new homes including 300 co-living studios through Halcyon,150 retirement living homes delivered by Audley Group and Senior Living Investment Partners and over 660 student apartments by Fusion.

In 2026, the first office building, 3 Copper Square, in the heart of the town’s 23,000 workspace and business innovation district will welcome its first tenant, Sheffield Hallam University. Benefiting from a prime location next to Brent Cross West station, the university will open its first satellite campus outside of Yorkshire by taking six floors as an anchor tenant.
