Related Companies names Philippe Visser president of Related Office Development

Visser to lead firm’s expansive commercial office development and construction efforts nationally

Related Companies today announced that Philippe Visser has been named president of Related Office Development. In this role, Mr. Visser will be responsible for the development and construction of the firm’s commercial office pipeline nationally, including the current and future Hudson Yards office offerings, One Columbus Circle, 517 West 35th Street and Farley-Moynihan Station. Mr. Visser joined Related in 2013 and led the construction of 30 Hudson Yards, future home to KKR, Wells Fargo, Time Warner Inc., DNB Bank and Related. The 2.6-million-square-foot, 1,296-foot-tall office tower will top out shortly and open next year.

At Hudson Yards, Related has leased or sold nearly 7 million square feet of office space to such tenants as Coach Inc.; L’Oréal USA; The Boston Consulting Group; SAP; VaynerMedia; Intersection and Sidewalk Labs; BlackRock; Boies, Schiller & Flexner; Cooley LLP; Intercept Pharmaceuticals; MarketAxess; Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP; Point72; Third Point LLC; Silver Lake; DNB Bank; Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts (KKR); Time Warner Inc.; and Wells Fargo. Related was also responsible for the development of Time Warner Inc.’s world headquarters, the Bertlesmann/Random House headquarters, Revlon Building and Nestle Foods U.S. offices, all in New York, and the new Converse Inc. global headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Related, Mr. Visser served as director, World Trade Center Redevelopment for the Port Authority of NY & NJ, leading the $15 billion, 14 million-square-foot World Trade Center redevelopment. Prior to the World Trade Center, Mr. Visser was responsible for the acquisition and development of New York City projects for Tishman Speyer, worked in acquisitions at Vornado Realty Trust and ran the day-to-day development of commercial office and mixed-use projects for Forest City Ratner. Mr. Visser graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Phi Beta Kappa member and Truman Scholar. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Master of Science in Regional and Urban Planning from the London School of Economics, which he attended as a Thouron Fellow. Mr. Visser has previously chaired the YMCA’s 2016 and 2017 capital campaigns and is a Trustee of Kane Street Synagogue and a member of the Business Advisory Committee of the New York Aquarium and UJA Brooklyn Advisory Committee.
