Willets Point is a transformational and thriving neighborhood anchored by 2,500 affordable housing units—the largest 100-percent affordable, new construction housing development in New York City in 40 years. Queens Development Group, a joint venture of Related Companies and Sterling Equities, will also be working alongside New York City Football Club to introduce NYC's first soccer-specific stadium, creating a generational investment in the World’s Borough that will generate over $6 billion in economic impact and nearly 16,000 jobs. Neighboring the stadium will be a 250-room hotel and retail shops, a 650-seat public elementary school and 40,000 square feet of open space for public use. The significant infrastructure investment for this project will include additional environmental cleanup—supplementing the ongoing remediation work—as well as installation of new storm and sanitary sewers, reconstruction of streets and improvements to the existing streetscape.
