Located in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood on city-owned land, Related California and San Francisco Housing Development Corporation (SFHDC) are developing an 85-unit, 100% affordable development for low-income families. 25 percent of the units will serve formerly homeless families and individuals, and five apartments will be set aside for a referral program for low-income households with a member living with HIV.

The 9-story building will feature a significant amount of two and three-bedroom apartments to accommodate a diverse range of families. All apartments will be adaptable, with 15% of units including mobility features and 10% of units with communications features. The building amenities will include a ground floor lobby, bicycle room, bicycle parking, multipurpose room with demonstration kitchen for events, a property management suite and social services office. There will be an outdoor courtyard with children’s play area, landscaping and seating area.

160 Freelon is located just steps away from the 4th Street and Brannan Street Muni light-rail station, a park, library, supermarkets and schools. Completion is expected in Q1 2027.
