The Crossroads at Washington is a public-private partnership with A Community of Friends (ACOF), the City of Santa Ana and the County of Orange. Located on 2.29 acres of County and City-owned land in Santa Ana’s historic Logan neighborhood, The Crossroads at Washington is an 86-unit affordable development for extremely low-income families and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) residents. Forty-three apartments have been set aside as PSH for those who are homeless, and twenty of those apartments are prioritized for Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) tenants. The Crossroads at Washington is one of the first affordable developments to consciously provide housing to families and special needs populations with incomes at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The overall design of the development encourages interaction amongst all residents with a mix of units throughout the site. There is a 6,000-square-foot community space with leasing and management offices, plus more than 1,400 square feet of retail for a community-serving use. Resident amenities include a swimming pool, tot lot, courtyards, shared laundry, a barbecue pavilion and dog run.

ACOF will provide a range of on-site social services for the residents, including health services, adult educational health, wellness and skill-building classes. The Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHA) will provide individualized services for the MHSA residents.
