The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards are proud to be home to many businesses that are led or owned by women, purveyors of everything from clothing to wellness, toys to jewelry, technology to beauty, and restaurants. And to honor those entrepreneurs, the neighborhood plans to extend the celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8th) for the entire month. Until March 31st, Hudson Yards will be donating the equivalent of 10% of the same-day receipts of participating stores to Girls Inc. of New York City, a non-profit organization focused on developing “the whole girl.”

Girls Inc. serves girls ages 6 to 18 from diverse ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds; 70% identify as girls of color and nearly 65% live in families with annual incomes of less than $30,000. Its trained professionals deliver research-based curricula and mentoring to help girls achieve academically—particularly in the STEM disciplines; lead healthy, active lives; manage money; and navigate media messages.

Hudson Yards will also be showcasing stories of the women behind its businesses on Instagram. Find more stories about the women of Hudson Yards.
