In August, Related Management Company (RMC) helped Chicago families prepare for the new school year with two Back to School events. Residents at Northpoint Apartments in Rogers Park gathered at their residence's community room for a complimentary lunch, meeting community partners who provided free healthcare resources and essential vaccinations. Social impact organization ChiGivesBack also gave children new school backpacks filled with school supplies with support from Related Affordable Foundation.
RMC also hosted a fun-filled party at mixed-income community Lathrop, located on Chicago's North Side. Residents and their neighbors convened outside for lawn games, arts and crafts, bingo, music by a live DJ and more. RMC invited local organizations to share invaluable resources and information with residents, including Gantz Boys & Girls Club, New West Side Family Works and the 19th District Police Department. Residents also participated in a woodworking workshop with on-site shop Bluestem Restoration and watched a “Midnight Circus” dog show from Canines for Kindness. After the event, 200 children went home with new backpacks and school supplies for a bright start to the school year.
