On June 20th, residents of NYCHA's Fulton and Chelsea Elliott Houses announced plans to demolish their current affordable housing complex in favor of a complete rebuild. The next phase of development will be led by Related Companies and Essence, who were previously chosen by residents to manage their buildings' renovation process. As Mayor Adams said in his statement: “No one knows better than the residents what they and their neighbors need, and they were smart to recognize the potential benefits of completely rebuilding their campus.” We are supportive of our residents' vision to achieve next-generation affordable housing.
