On April 25th, Related's Pride Employees Resource Group (ERG) hosted an interactive Lunch & Learn event featuring Amy Harclerode (she/her/hers), chief development officer at local nonprofit Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI). Related employees came together to learn more about HMI's laudable mission, which is to provide a comprehensive community of care for youths who identify as LGBTQIA+, including how they can volunteer with the organization and help make a positive impact on young people's lives. Related has supported and partnered with HMI for many years, including hosting Pride events that supported LGBTQIA+ employees and that gave back to the community. HMI provides its young members, who are between the ages of 13 and 24, much-needed services in the areas of emergency access to food, pantry and showers; counseling and case management; health and wellness; academic enrichment; and job readiness. These life-affirming services, along with HMI's community outreach and advocacy efforts, collectively touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of LGBTQIA+ youths in New York City.
