Related teams celebrate Thanksgiving


For Thanksgiving 2023, Related offices and residences showed their appreciation with festive events and volunteering efforts.

Across the country, Related Management Company (RMC) hosted Thanksgiving-themed gatherings for both residents and employees. In New York, Gateway Elton Community Manager Lorie James invited employees to a ""Staffgiving"" event featuring a raffle, delicious feast and words of appreciation. In Connecticut, Augustana Homes Palisades honored residents of the Affordable East portfolio with a Thanksgiving luncheon. In California, Affordable West teams offered pie events at three residences, giving away over 140 pies to residents.

In Boston, Related Beal team members volunteered at Shirley's Pantry and St. Monica's Parish to support turkey drives for the community. Team members packed and distributed food boxes.

In Oregon, Related Northwest team members partnered with the Housing Authority of Clackamas County to provide complimentary turkeys and hams to residents of affordable community Hillside Park & Hillside Manor. In 2024, Related Northwest will revitalize the housing community and unveil improved, vibrant residences for local individuals and families.

At New York's River Pointe Apartments, staff members and nonprofit Island Harvest received support from Related Affordable Foundation (RAF) to organize a Thanksgiving event for residents. Island Harvest provided residents with fresh produce and helpful community resources, including information for federal and local food programs. The Long Island-based organization aims to end hunger and reduce food waste in the community.

At NYC's Hudson Yards, Operations and Customer Experience team members coordinated a significant clothing giveaway to support Morningside Heights' Riverside Church as part of its Career Advance program. Team members donated over 260 articles of clothing, including over 100 gently used suits, which will be provided to people in need who are preparing for job interviews. Also at Hudson Yards, employees donated toys to support the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Toy Drive which will be distributed to local children to brighten up their Christmas holidays.
