On July 25, Related Midwest, the Related Affordable Foundation and Related Affordable gathered to unveil two new playspaces for children ages 3–5 at Marshall Field Garden Apartment Homes, a 628-unit affordable housing community in Chicago. Over the course of two days, volunteers from Related, KABOOM! and the local community came together to build the playgrounds, which had been designed by residents during an earlier Design Day event where they were encouraged to imagine their ideal playspaces. The launch of these playgrounds marks the seventh successful collaboration between Related and KABOOM!, a national nonprofit that addresses playspace inequity for underserved children and families. Thank you to all the residents, local community members and Related employees who volunteered and helped bring these new playgrounds to life for our residents!
