Pocket Living is providing a new route to homeownership for London locals

Pocket Living is one of our many exciting projects in London that is delivering affordable homes specifically for first-time homeowners. Pocket’s mission is to help the millions of young lower- to middle-income Londoners who are essential to the city’s economy, but cannot afford to buy a market rate home and don’t qualify for traditional affordable housing. Pocket Homes are sold at a 20% discount when compared to local prices, and eligible purchasers are defined by their income levels, as well as where they live and work. For example, only locals are qualified to buy Pocket Homes, meaning more locals will be able to live where they work. Pocket Homes remain affordable in perpetuity and are 100% owned by their buyers.

Supported by the Mayor of London and Homes England, Pocket Living is the UK’s only developer dedicated to building and selling affordable homes. At 38 square meters, each Pocket Home provides all the necessary design features for a first-time buyer to comfortably live and work in London. The one-bedroom design is divided into three separate rooms accessed from a hallway, featuring an open kitchen, large bedroom and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The homes also boast high ceilings and large full-height windows to maximize daylight and views of the city. Each home also has space for all the usual elements you’d desire—nothing folds out of the wall, and there’s no need to make a bed from the sofa every night. Additionally, Pocket buyers gain access to a like-minded community. Each Pocket community features shared spaces such as roof terraces, landscaped gardens and communal hubs where neighbors can get to know each other.
