Thanksgiving marks a special time of year for our team to not only remember what is most important and spend time with loved ones, but to offer help to the people who need it most. Related is pleased to share a sampling of how our teams are making a difference in families’ lives this holiday season.

At Related Rentals properties nationwide, the spirit of Thanksgiving lasts all month long. On November 19th, the corporate team volunteered at the Urban Outreach Center food pantry, which connects people with their neighbors and feeds over 50,000 people every year. The Related team helped the food pantry meet the needs of New Yorkers in need of pantry essentials for Thanksgiving by organizing the pantry and dining spaces and packing bundles of nonperishables. The team was proud to help UOC on one of its biggest days of giving: In total, the non-profit distributed 25,000 meals, including 400 turkeys, and celebrated the milestone of serving 1 million meals in 2021.

Also in New York, Related Rentals and internet provider Starry teamed up to combat food insecurity with a month-long food drive hosted at a number of Related’s luxury rental buildings in order to solicit food donations from residents. Related Cares has also organized Thanksgiving food drives across all San Francisco luxury rental properties, collecting pantry items from residents within each lobby for San Francisco Marin Food Bank.

This year, the Related Retail team is working with community leaders in Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens and contributing to their local turkey drives. Every year, the team provides both food and monetary donations, ensuring that hundreds of food-insecure families across New York City can share a Thanksgiving meal together.

In South Florida, Related Cares organized West Palm Beach team members to join Urban Youth Impact (UYI) for the 6th Annual Fall Stampede 5K Run/Walk Presented by Chick-fil-A. On November 20th, the race and the accompanying auction helped UYI raise funds and awareness for educational programs supporting youths in need within the West Palm Beach community with initiatives such as an acclaimed after school program.
