On January 17, Storyland: The Bronx Book Haven was featured on The Drew Barrymore Show’s “Drew Gooders” segment. Drew and Food Network’s Sunny Anderson conducted the interview with Storyland Executive Director Sulma Arzu-Brown and Board Chair Dr. Maria Armstrong. Drew Barrymore provided a gift of $25,000 to support Storyland's mission, which is to increase the literacy rate among local children in New York City and to offer them a safe and nurturing space where they can learn and grow. Located in space provided by retail center Bronx Terminal Market, Storyland presents the first children's book lounge and literary hub in the Bronx. The lively space also presents a mentorship program and educational events that encourage kids to read more and to connect with their caregivers and their community.
