Mixed-use center Brent Cross Town has set out to discover and support locals who are trying to make a difference in their community. For the fourth consecutive year, the Brent Cross Town Community Fund opened up the competition to neighborhood individuals and groups who applied to be considered. The fund's judges have selected 11 local charities and initiatives as winners, where each will receive a portion of the fund's £40,000 to support a good cause. This year's recipients champion a broad range of causes, including: Yaran Club, a non-profit mental health support group for women who speak Farsi; the Keep Rolling Project, which uses skateboarding and art workshops to improve the confidence of young girls; and Childs Hill School, which will result in the school purchasing laptops for children who experience digital exclusion so that they can develop technology skills. Since its launch in 2019, the Brent Cross Town Community Fund has awarded 42 local projects with funding for a total of £140,000. Go here to learn more about this year's winners and the fund.
