Through September 29, North London neighborhood Brent Cross Town is engaging residents and visitors with The Maze, a colorful new art exhibit located next to the Visitor Pavilion in Claremont Park. The interactive installation is the result of a partnership with experiential event producer MarbleLDN, presenting an ongoing collaboratiion where multiple artists are creating their mural pieces live on-site and allowing visitors to get an inside look into their creative processes. Opened on June 27, The Maze featured the bright and graffiti-style artwork Blooming Together, created by Chilean-Swedish artist and designer Amara Por Dios. On July 27, UK-based muralist Lois O’Hara produced a panel that explored how color can positively affect people and places. Coming on August 10, the final mural commission will be created by East London’s Josephine Hicks, aka Hixxy, who will combine collage and printmaking styles in her signature artistic style. In September, the street art organization London Mural Festival will offer public workshops where visitors can contribute their own artistic skills and help create a large-scale mural. Once The Maze is complete at the end of September, the sustainably-built installation will be taken apart and moved to a new permanent home in Brent Cross Town, adding a lasting splash of color to the neighborhood for all to enjoy.
