Queens Development Group (Related Companies and Sterling Equities) introduced 880 brand new affordable homes at Willets Point Commons in Queens, creating housing, open space, opportunity and a vibrant new neighborhood for New Yorkers.

Related Affordable completed the rehabilitation of 146-unit senior residence Hacienda Del Rio Apartments in Phoenix, combining preserved affordability with quality-of-life enhancements, including remodeled homes, a community room, outdoor workout equipment and an outdoor sculpture walk created in collaboration with local artist Jeff Zischke.

Related Affordable Foundation and nonprofit KABOOM! celebrated the creation of two kid-designed playspaces at River Pointe Apartments in Riverhead, NY, launching safe and active places for kids to play and bringing joy to the community for years to come. 

Thanks to the shared commitment of Related Affordable and community partners, such as the YMCA of Greater Houston, four neighboring communities in The Woodlands, Texas are not just preserved, but thriving—more than four years after renovations were completed and preservation status secured.

Related Companies and The Battery Park City Authority have extended affordability protections at Tribeca Park, preserving 81 affordable homes and creating additional affordable housing opportunities over time. The agreement increases the building’s affordable housing share from 20% to 25% and reinforces long-term commitments to housing accessibility, sustainability and community investment.

On June 1, Related Northwest affordable and supportive housing community Aldea and Beacon at Glisan Landing took home the Development of Distinction Award for the Development that Best Exemplifies Metropolitan Community Impact, presented by The Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits. This award honors exemplary affordable developments that have received either the low-income housing tax credit and/or tax credit developments that have used U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financing. Aldea and Beacon at Glisan Landing offer 137 residences aimed at serving families in northeast Portland, OR, offering a variety of on-site services and amenities as well as a shared courtyard that features a two-classroom preschool owned and operated by IRCO.

Related Midwest has announced that the affordable housing waitlist for 400 Lake Shore Drive will open on July 28. The development will bring 635 new residences to downtown Chicago, including 127 affordable homes with preference categories for artists and cultural workers, alongside veterans and working families. 

As Chicago’s first downtown residential tower to include creatives among its affordable housing preference categories, 400 Lake Shore Drive reflects a commitment to supporting the people who help shape the city’s culture, energy, and identity. The community also represents Related Midwest’s second 80/20 mixed-income development, further expanding access to high-quality housing and creating a more inclusive downtown neighborhood. In May, NJ affordable residence Cherry Gardens kicked off the start to summer with the community's annual summer barbecue. The outdoor gathering brought residents together for an afternoon of music, activities, summer fun and delicious food.
