Stern Architects and occupies the prime corner of 65th Street at Third Avenue. A slim, highly articulated 32-story tower soars above a limestone base and features a red-brick and limestone façade punctuated by French balconies and bay windows. The base of the building is classical—a nod to Park Avenue’s finest residential buildings—while the top narrows with a notable series of setbacks to create a sense that the Chatham is skyward-bound. At its apex, the tower culminates in a symbolic lantern that is a distinctive addition to the New York City skyline. Conceived as a luxury condominium, it has only 92 spacious residences.
