Read the Press Release Related Beal and DREAM Development approved to build sustainable affordable community in Boston On April 11th, Related Beal and DREAM Development received Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) approval to bring much-needed affordable residences to Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. The 50/50 partnership with DREAM, a 100% minority-owned firm, will result in an affordable and workforce development that addresses wealth creation and equity, health and urban heat islands, equitable mobility and community infrastructure. With a plan to transform existing parking lots in Nubian Square, the development team will build over 400 sustainably designed residences, including 79 units reserved for low- to moderate-income first-time homebuyers and 94 units dedicated to seniors. The community will be positioned in the middle of a 25,000-square-foot central green that will be complemented by additional open and green spaces, providing more than an acre of community-focused outdoor space to engage the neighborhood. Residents will also have access to affordable retail and community-serving spaces dedicated to incubators, small businesses, workforce training and other community uses. Read the Press Release Detroit's University of Michigan Center for Innovation unveils new project details and renderings On March 29th, University of Michigan Center for Innovation (UMCI) revealed new renderings for the uniquely designed educational center, which will introduce more than 200,000 square feet of cutting-edge research and educational space for graduate U-M students. Serving as the anchor for mixed-use neighborhood The District Detroit, which is being developed by Related Companies and Olympia Development of Michigan, the UMCI will help attract top talent and stimulate economic development in the region. Located next to an 18-story residence and a building with an incubator and coworking space that will serve students, the UMCI will offer programs in four main areas: advanced mobility and robotics, sustainability, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship.
