Timur F. Galen is an Executive Vice President with Related Companies and part of the senior executive team for the development of Hudson Yards.

Prior to joining Related, Mr. Galen was a Partner at Goldman Sachs where he served as their global co-head of Corporate Services and Real Estate and led the firm’s move to their global headquarters at 200 West Street and the transformative redevelopment of the broader New York/New Jersey campus, including 30 Hudson Street and the Conrad New York hotel and retail complex. He also oversaw the evolution of Goldman’s campuses in Salt Lake City, London, Bengaluru, Hong Kong and Singapore. Mr. Galen has over 30 years of diversified experience in the design, development, entertainment and financial services industries and has also held senior executive positions at The Walt Disney Company, Reichmann International and Bechtel Park Tower Properties. A registered architect, he completed his design apprenticeship under Pritzker Prize winners Robert Venturi and Fumiko Maki and received his early training in real estate development at Hines.

Mr. Galen is chair of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, an executive committee board member of the Regional Plan Association, special advisor to the New York Public Library, a founding director of the Urban Design Forum and a member of the US Department of State’s Overseas Building Operations Industry Advisory Group. He is also a trustee of the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Canadian Centre for Architecture.

He earned a BA in Physics from Haverford College, a Master of Architecture and a Master of Civil and Urban Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, was a Henry Luce Foundation Research Fellow at Tokyo University and, since then, has lectured regularly at universities including Columbia, Harvard, Michigan, NYU, University of Pennsylvania and Yale.
