Overview
Every detail has been meticulously designed in the creation of The Century—from the building site presiding over its vast acreage and surroundings, to the architecture and design teams' realizing a creative vision for the property, to the refined aesthetics and hand-selected materials that bring the unprecedented Century experience to life.
Architecture
The Century’s elegant elliptical form—envisioned by renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern as a sculptural icon—boasts breathtaking panoramic views from many rooms within its residences. Focused on creating a building that was contemporary in spirit but embraced timeless elegance, Stern incorporated soaring ceilings, a sweeping staircase from the lobby, and a signature skyline silhouette crowning The Century’s top level. “The feeling here is one of glamour,” he says, “like a glamorous resort.”
Interiors
A grand lobby adorned with polished Burma teak marble, gold limestone and sycamore wood paneling welcomes residents and guests as they drive past the gatehouse through stately travertine-flanked iron entry gates and arrive at a towering glass canopy porte cochere. Just beyond the grand lobby is the expansive, sun-flooded garden lobby that offers a panorama of the lushly landscaped Great Lawn and estate gardens.
Estate Gardens
Inspired by legendary Bel Air and Beverly Hills estates, The Century’s estate grounds were designed by internationally recognized landscape architect Pamela Burton. The Great Lawn forms the centerpiece of this dramatic setting, punctuated by picturesque cascading water features and over 150 mature pine trees reclaimed from the original landscape.
